# Cursor Pricing: What the Plans Actually Give You

Cursor's pricing page lists four plans, but only the price is a real number. Pro is $20 for "extended limits." Pro+ is $60 for "3x Pro limits." Ultra is $200 for "20x Pro limits." Pro's own baseline is never published.

## The multiplier pricing has a real pattern

Compare by cost-per-unit: Pro+ is 3x the price for 3x the usage — same rate. Ultra is the only tier that changes the economics, working out to half the per-unit cost of Pro or Pro+.

## Cursor Router changed what "Auto" bills

July 22, 2026: Cursor Router replaced Auto mode's fixed heuristics with per-request model classification (Intelligence / Balance / Cost modes). Auto Balance can now route to a genuinely expensive model and bill full rate — with no warning. A forum user summed it up: "Auto... used to mean cheap flat rate... this no longer holds."

## What happens at your limit

Two usage pools (Cursor Models, Other Models), resets monthly, no rollover. Hit the limit and you choose: on-demand pay-as-you-go, or upgrade. One widely shared case burned a $7,000 annual subscription in a single day.

## Teams and legacy pricing

Teams/Enterprise with their own key: $0.25 per million tokens. Legacy Max Mode: API rate + 20%. Neither is on the main pricing page.
